Site Hygiene Operative
We are looking for a Site Hygiene Operative to join our team at our Chelmsford City Centre site, to ensure that production and staff facilities are clean and hygienic.
Hours of Work
Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 8.30 am – 5 pm.
Responsibilities and duties
Ensuring production areas are always kept clean and tidy.
Cleaning of walls, floors, machinery, equipment, utensils, and the removal of rubbish.
Detailed cleaning of some machinery
Cleaning toilets, washrooms.
Accurately completing all cleaning records at the time of cleaning.
Reporting product leaks, pest sightings, plant or equipment defects or other incidents to management so that timely corrective action can be taken.
Carrying out any housekeeping tasks generated from audit reports.
Daily removal of packaging for recycling.
Using bailing machinery for waste materials.
Adhering to all company Health & Safety and hygiene rules
Any other duties as may be assigned

Requirement for daily manual handling and lifting
Experience
Industrial cleaning: 2 years (preferred)
Previous cleaning experience in a food manufacturing environment desirable.
TECHNICAL AND PRODUCTION ADMINISTRATOR
This newly created role within our Technical Team will support ensuring our range of flours meet all requirements for due diligence, quality, and integrity.
Reporting the Technical Supervisor, this role will Provide support to the Technical and Production team, maintaining databases, delivering effective systems and processes to monitor, highlight, and improve product quality and food safety, and reporting consumer/customer quality data, to drive continuous improvements.
Main duties
Check daily to ensure all batches of bulk flour have been picked and reported as finished
Upload Blends to system
Complete customer Self-assessment forms
Issue and follow up new supplier audit information for supplier approval, monitor and reissue in accordance with requirements. Track supplier accreditations and maintain a certificate register
Maintain and update the equipment calibration log and track calibration due dates.
Issue paperwork / reminders for internal audits / join the internal auditing team and undertake internal audits
Maintain data on Marriage’s and customer specification systems and give customer links our specification system
Collate and compile KPI reports for customers and internal meetings
Daily walk-about QA inspections
Provide admin support for the Technical and production teams
Qualifications required
Essential
Science A level or equivalent food qualification, or equivalent work experience
Desirable
Food technology or science degree.
Experience
Some experience in food technology, either through an industrial placement or since graduating

Knowledge of Microsoft AX

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role as part of the maintenance team ensures preventative and reactive maintenance on all mechanical aspects of the mill plants, in a safe and efficient manner, to reduce operational downtime; to maximise efficiency.
Hours of work
Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week, between the hours of 0700 and 1700 hours. Participation in the paid on-call rota, covering 7 days, 24 hours a day is also required.
Key tasks
Working as part of the team to deliver the Planned Preventative Maintenance schedule effectively, on time & within budget.
Responsible for pumps, gearboxes and pneumatics.
Fabrication – guarding and material ducting (spouting).
Installing new machines; fault finding on machinery.
Rapid response for breakdowns, to ensure downtime on production and packaging lines is reduced.
Welding – repairs, making brackets, pipe work.
General maintenance around site – production, warehouse and office areas.
On-call cover for the plant, responding to emergency breakdowns.
Maintaining accurate records on production maintenance software, to ensure compliance and ensure safe working environment.
Complying with all company Health and Safety and hygiene rules

Essential
Good teamwork and communication skills
Minimum 3 years’ experience in industrial maintenance
Welding experience
Educated to at least City and Guilds level 3/ B Tech/ NVQ 3 or equivalent relevant experience.

Other Information
Due to this role requiring the post holder to attend site, as part of a call-out rota, across 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, it is preferable but not essential to live within a 30-minute travel distance of Chelmsford.
There is a requirement to work on all levels of the Mill, with access via stairs. Manual handling duties.
Requirement to operate a Forklift Truck.
