Its Shrove Tuesday today – so here are our top tips for making perfect pancakes:
- Don’t over mix your batter as this might make your pancakes rubbery
- Rest the batter for at least 30 minutes before cooking (to make sure your pancakes are light textured)
- Use a good quality, non-stick frying pan
- Use a ladle to make sure that you can pour the batter into the pan in one go and make even sized pancakes
- Keep a palette knife handy to flip any tricky pancakes
Stack your cooked pancakes between layers of greaseproof paper and keep warm whilst waiting to serve
- Pancakes can be frozen, stacked with layers of greaseproof paper and put in a freezer bag
