We were delighted to support the Braxted Park Great Pancake Challenge yesterday which has raised over £900 for Farleigh Hospice
Over 80 “tossers” put their pancake skills to the test and competed in the inaugural Braxted Park Great Pancake Challenge to raise money for Farleigh Hospice.
In total 520 pancakes were tossed throughout the day, using over 200 eggs, 17kg flour, 50 lemons and almost 50 pints of milk, all donated by local businesses including Marriage’s, Arla Food, Tiptree Farm Eggs and Anglia Produce.
Nine teams took part in the event including Davonport Kitchens, Effective Business Networking, SMP Healthcare and Allwag Promotions. The chefs at Braxted Park, who each gave their time voluntarily for the event, taught each team how to make the perfect pancake and then the teams took to the kitchen to battle it out for first prize.
The Cookery School at Braxted Park hosted the Great Pancake Challenge as part of the Farleigh Hospice £50 challenge which has seen 50 businesses try to turn £50 into as much money as possible for the charity. Farleigh Hospice works to provide support tolocal people affected by life limiting illnesses and to support those who have been bereaved.
