Life At The Mill: Harvest

Harvest is now underway in Essex.

The UK wheat harvest has been later than normal this year and will be more prolonged, because of the cold and wet weather earlier in the year which delayed planting.

The HGCA has estimated that the total UK wheat crop is expected to be between 10 and 12 million tonnes.

Initial wheat samples that we have tested appear to be better quality than last year's harvest.
