This Sunday, 20th November, is 'Stir up Sunday' so it's time to make the Christmas pudding!
Stir up Sunday is a great British tradition that goes back to Victorian times, when the family would get together to stir up the Christmas pudding five weeks before Christmas. It's always the last Sunday before Advent so the pudding has time to mature before Christmas day.
Traditionally the whole family should get a turn to mix all of the ingredients together. Our favourite Stir up Sunday tradition has to be that of adding coins to the pudding - these coins are said to bring wealth, health and happiness for the coming year to the people who find them in pudding on Christmas day!
So get stirring and make your very own Christmas pudding this weekend!
