The East of England Co-op works with over 100 producers through its Sourced Locally initiative; “the awards raise awareness of locally sourced food and are a celebration of our local farmers, growers and producers from Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk...This year's shortlisted producers were chosen for their innovation and performance, packaging and promotion, and for demonstrating true co-operative spirit”, notes the East of England Co-op. You can find out more about the six local food producers who’ve been shortlisted for the 2017 award here.
Marriage’s Flour has provided the winning ingredient for several East of England Co-operative bakery suppliers this year. We supply Wendy's House Cakes, Norfolk Producer of the Year 2016, Dan Hull Prepared Foods, Essex Producer of the Year 2016 finalist, and Bushells Bakery, nominated this year.
Our Sourced Locally collaborations included mince pies produced by Leggs Bakery using Marriage’s flour. Peacocks Bakery’s Hot Cross Buns made with our flour were so popular they were sold again in June’s Sourced Locally fortnight.
Vote online now at www.eastofengland.coop/poty2017. Voting closes Tuesday 31 January.
