Halloween Baking

It’s Halloween today – it’s easy to make spooky treats at home, and a great way to get the kids in the kitchen helping out!

For creepy cookies - bake a batch of gingerbread or shortbread to be used as the base and cut into shapes using Halloween shaped cookie cutters.  Once these are baked and fully cool, roll ready to roll soft icing over the top. This icing is widely available in different colours like white, black and orange.

For a chocolate witches hat - dip an ice cream cone in melted chocolate and cover with sugar star decorations. Serve with the base of the cone facing down.

For spider cupcakes – bake a batch of chocolate muffins and decorate with chopped up lengths of liquorice Catherine wheels as the spider’s legs.
